14 Things Only Overthinkers Will Understand
If your brain has ever replayed a two-second interaction for six hours, welcome home. Here's the overthinker starter pack:
- Rehearsing a text reply for ten minutes, then sending "ok"
- Replaying a conversation from 2019 at 1am, unprompted
- Saying "you too" when someone says "enjoy your meal"
- Assuming silence means you did something wrong
- Drafting an email, deleting it, drafting it again, sending the first version anyway
- Convincing yourself a friend is mad at you because they used a period instead of an exclamation mark
- Explaining a joke immediately after making it, just in case
- Waving back at someone who wasn't waving at you
- Apologising for apologising
- Reading a message three times before deciding how worried to be
- Making eye contact, immediately regretting it
- Cancelling plans and feeling relief and guilt in the same breath
- Practising a phone call out loud before making it
- Somehow still functioning like a normal, put-together adult
If you nodded along to more than half of these, you already know why we make clothes about it. Laughing at it is doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
